On Dec. 24, 1947 Art married Donna Madland in Portland. They had two children, Donnalyn and Kenny. They later divorced.

In 1971 he was hurt on the job and was forced to retire. After a long recovery, Art went to work for Northwest Iron Works, where he was ship superintendent. He retired in 1990.

On Dec. 24, 1981, he married Connie Lyons in Reno, Nev. They made their home in Estacada.

Art was an avid golfer. In later years, he enjoyed going to the Moose Lodge and playing Texas Hold ‘Em. He enjoyed his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Connie of Estacada; sons Kenny Sacht of Boise, Idaho and Jeff Lyons of Cottage Grove, Ore.; Daughters, Donnalyn Quintana of Santa Maria, Calif., Julie Youngberg of Estacada; brother, William Sacht of Boise, Idaho; sisters, Kathleen Hurd of North Dakota, Ramona Maloney of Clark Fork, Idaho, Toddy Silverthorn of Plaines, Mont.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to the Estacada High School Golf Program.
