Jerry Lee Boerste
March 28, 1939–January 11, 2008
Eagle Creek resident, Jerry Boerste died at a Portland hospital, Friday, Jan. 11, 2008. He was 68.
A funeral service will be held at Sandy Funeral Home 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16. Burial will follow at Forrester Cemetery.
Jerry Boerste was born March 28, 1939 in Centralia, Wash. He was raised around Oregon and Washington and after high school he entered into the U.S. Army. After his discharge, Jerry met JoAnn Anderson. They were together for 45 years. For the last 20 years of his working life, he worked in maintenance at Lloyd Center. He retired in 2001.
Jerry enjoyed working on computers and cars. He loved hunting and being in the outdoors.
He is survived by his companion, JoAnn Anderson of Eagle Creek.

John Loren Deets
March 4, 1925–
January 11, 2008
Longtime Estacada resident, John Deets, died at his home Friday, Jan. 11, 2008. He was 82.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Jan. 14, at Estacada Seventh-day Adventist Church followed by burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
John Loren Deets was born March 4, 1925 in Carroll County, Ill. to John and Klea (Spencer) Deets. He was raised in Illinois and on May 28, 1950, he married Juanita Huber. They moved to the Portland area for a time before moving to Estacada on December 31, 1950. John drove long haul truck for over 22 years and then worked for the forest service for 11 years before retiring in 1992.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, golfing and anything to do with the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; daughter, Loretta M. Felix of Sandy; sons, John Deets of Clackamas, Spencer Deets of Estacada, William Deets of Tucson, Ariz., Lawrence Deets of Hoquiam, Wash.; sister, Ruth Darnell of Spokane, Wash.; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. One great-grandchild preceded him in death.
Contributions may be made to Portland Adventist Hospice.

Al Price
July 2, 1957–
January 8, 2008
Longtime Estacada resident, Al Price was promoted to glory on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008. He was 50.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Estacada First Baptist Church.
Allen Charles Price was born July 2, 1957 in Oak Park, Ill. to Claude and Nellie (Weck) Price. He was raised there for a time until his father’s death when Al was 11. His mother moved the family to Pendleton, Ore. at that time and later moved to Troutdale. He graduated from Gresham High School in 1975. After high school he worked as a roadie for a rock band for a time, and, in 1977, he began his career as an iron worker. He had a great passion for his career for over 30 years and was a member of Local 29. On May 5, 1979, Al married Peggy Hall. They made their home in Troutdale. They started their family and on Nov. 3, 1980, when they had their first son Ian Hall Price. Eric Allen Price was born on Feb. 11, 1982 and then came Adam Tyler Price on July 27, 1983. On Dec. 22, 1992, they moved to Estacada from Portland and lived here since. They opened their home to anyone who needed it. They considered themselves parents to all.
Al was a great lover of fishing. He enjoyed teaching others about fishing and enjoyed taking others along with him. Other past times included boating and being in the outdoors. He liked music, playing his guitar and singing. Al was a great cook and loved retelling fishing stories. Most of all, he loved his family and God.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy; sons, Ian and his girlfriend Jessica Woltring, Eric and his fiancé Julia Stafford, Adam and his girlfriend Leah Perry, all of Estacada; brothers, Claude Price and his wife Shelly of Pendleton, Marc Price and his wife Diana of Idaho, Curt Price and his wife Jackie of Canby; sister, Sondra Craig and her husband Donnie of Salem; twin-sister, Donna and her husband Gary Patton of Canby; and several nieces and nephews.
Estacada Funeral Chapel is in care of his arrangements.

These are all so sad i hope that the families of these people are dealing with the coping ok enough. I just want to say dont let something like this get in the way of you living your life.
