Former Estacada resident Lawrence Day Looney passed away on Jan. 4, 2010, in Salem. He was 94.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Looney at a later date. Private services were held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Estacada.
Lawrence Day Looney was born on Aug. 25, 1915, in Currinsville, Ore., to Coyd and Rosa Looney.
He was raised in Estacada, later graduated from high school in The Dalles, and lived in Currinsville off and on most of his life. In 1980, he retired from Cummins Diesel in Portland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June, who passed away in 1978. He is survived by daughter R. Diana Halvorson and son-in-law Rick Halvorson of Keizer, Ore.; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
