ADVERTISEMENTS
Since he was 9 years old, Daniel Plummer has been an active Boy Scout, first as a Webelo Scout, then becoming a Boy Scout in August 2002.
Plummer, of Troop 210 in Estacada, became an Eagle Scout on Aug. 14, 2009, one of just over 2 million in the United States. Estacada’s Troop 210 is in the Thunderbird District, Columbia Pacific Council. His Eagle Court of Honor was held Nov. 7, 2009, at Mt. Hood Village in Welches, Ore.
To earn scouting's highest award, Plummer had to earn 21 merit badges, serve as a leader in his troop, and complete a major community service project. He earned 25 merit badges and held the positions of Jr. Assistant Scout Master, Senior Patrol Leader, and Order of the Arrow Representative, as well as other important leadership rolls in his troop over the years.
He received the Arrow of Light in April 2002 and became a member of the Order of the Arrow in June 2006.
Plummer’s Eagle Service Project took place at Eagle Fern Park in Eagle Creek, where he planned out and executed the extension of a hiking trail a quarter of a mile. The project took 144 hours, from beginning the plans to making the trail.
Troop leaders, scouts and Clackamas County Park Ranger Victor Harshman provided many hours of labor and help to complete the project.
Plummer graduated from Estacada High School in 2009 and is currently attending the computer science program at Clackamas Community College.
