ADVERTISEMENTS
Attendees at the 300 Main Christmas party in Estacada enjoyed a dance show by Michael Danforth, who dresses and moves eerily like the late international pop star Michael Jackson. The 16-year-old Eagle Creek resident performed five numbers from the music artist’s albums at the residential center on Dec. 11, changing costume for each and receiving smiles and appreciative applause.
The Portland Lutheran High School sophomore took up dancing in 2006 and has been perfecting his Jackson routine for two years, said his mother, Vicky (far right). Danforth, who also likes to draw and is a cross country runner for his school, was the featured act at the Sandy Cinema’s advance showing of Jackson’s movie “This Is It” in October. He’ll recreate the dance moves from the movie in January at Gresham’s San Barlow High School to honor Martin Luther King Day.
Danforth performed for the residents to give to the community, he said. “When I see people who have worked hard, I hope I’ve given something back for what they’ve given to me.”

Re: Thriller at 300 Main
Michael is a talented and giving young man. As his principal, I constantly see him concerned for the needs of others without the need for personal recognition. It is good to know that he receives some recognition for his "joy of giving".
